Craving for sweet this festive season but don't want to eat Sugar?
Well I have a sweet tooth too and I can't resist either at times, but hey! Sugar is not a culprit for weight gain at all. They are just empty calories with no benefits.
So without using them, how can we make sweets? Let's check it out.
A week ago, my friend Sushma Iyer, posted a Recipe of Sugarless Laddus and the ingredients used were quite amazing. So I gave it a try.
Nutritional Value (for 32 laddus)
Protein: 56gms
Carbohydrates: 233gms
Fats: 97gms
Total Calories: 2031 cal (63.5 cal approx per laddu)
Ingredients:
Deseeded Dates- 150gms
Raisins- 100gms
Almonds- 100gms
Peanuts- 100gms
Flax Seeds- 20gms (You can use Sunflower Seeds as well)
Method:
1. Roast the almonds, peanuts and flax seeds.
2. Grind Dates and Raisins separately.
3. Now grind the roasted items coarsely.
4. Knead all together.
5. Make Laddus of the size you desire.
Sushma used Sunflower Seeds but since I didn't have them handy, I used Flax seeds. It has many health benefits!
Do give a try and let me know how the healthy laddus were and wishing you all a Happy & Prosperous Diwali!
